Platinum Suites KL with Brendz and the bunch & July '17 updates

One of the things that I really wanted to do in my life is to have a little staycation with my beautiful bunch of college babes (yep, it's you Brendz and the gang). I had been waiting for this day to come for so long and it finally happened! Last Saturday, my babes and I had a two days one night stay at the Platinum suites, aka the face suites KL. From young till now, I have never experienced any overnight stays in my friend's houses nor hotels before and so this is my first ever time of staying outside with my friends in a hotel. We booked the whole apartment from a young man via Airbnb at a price of RM230 per night after a discount of RM70 off. Yep, the original price per night is RM300. Brendz planned this trip while I provided transportation hehehe. We traveled there by my car. If I were to summarize this trip into a word only, I would say it was GREAT.

Untitled
Here's the apartment. It's a little bit smaller compared to the previous one I've stayed before.
This one comprises of 2 rooms and 1 bathroom.
As you can see, Brendz and the rest are having a mini photoshoot session hahaha.

Untitled
This apartment has a seat by the window for visitors to enjoy the breathtaking city view. Not to mention there's also a huge window in the master bedroom that allows us to enjoy the city's beautiful views.

Untitled
We were fascinated by this sensor-operated glass sliding door because.. let's be real, how many of us do actually have such things at home? 😍

Untitled
The automatic glass sliding door leads to a smaller bedroom which was Ben's room.

Untitled
We, the girls took the master bedroom as it was spacious enough for the 4 of us. 2 of us (Brendz and I) slept on the mattress on the floor and the other 2 slept on the bed.

Untitled
Later that afternoon we had a mini chatting, photoshooting and exploring the place session.

Untitled
Here's the 5 of us, yayerz. ✌

Untitled
We had our dinner at Pavilion and walked around the mall for a while then we went back to the hotel. Since it was a Saturday night, the KL roads were flooded with cars, causing traffic jam so we arrived back at our place quite late. Of course, we couldn't miss the beautiful night city view. Took some pics on the Skydeck and then we went straight back to our apartment.

Untitled
Here's a pic of me and Brendz (although you can't see us) with the night city view. Before going to bed, both of us watched and enjoyed the night scenery and took some pictures because who could ever resist such gorgeous night views?! We certainly couldn't!

Untitled
We woke up pretty early in the morning, went to get some breakfast from the nearby Mcdonalds in Jalan Tun Perak (by driving) then Wei Wen and I went for a dip in the pool.

Untitled
Here's a picture of Brenda's feet, clearly enjoying the hot sun rays shining into her face.
(ok sorry jie it's just a joke 😝)

Untitled
A picture of our dearest Ben under the scorching sun.

That's all for our trip! We didn't take much photos actually.

Untitled
Drew some wreaths the other day by referring to google pictures.

Untitled
On a random weekday, me and Javier had our little meet up at this Hinz cafe located in Menjalara. It seemed like a little pastel (and maybe a little zen?) themed cafe to me.

Untitled
They do offer a range of cakes at the counter.

Untitled
Javier's mocha. RM11.

Untitled
My stack of ice cream pancakes. RM13.90. Just ordinary.

Untitled
Here's the menu. I would say I might come back to this cafe again if I ever wanted to have a little chat session with my friends but I wouldn't think of coming here for any meals. Overall, it was still a pleasant experience for me as I liked the cafe's ambiance.

Untitled
Everyone went cray cray during the opening of this ice cream parlour here in Pavilion Elite because they serve cute pastel coloured soft serve ice creams.

Untitled
We went for the unicorn poop because it's limited edition.

Untitled
Here it is, the unicorn poop soft serve ice cream with a huge cotton candy cloud around it. They should have named it unicorn fluff instead because of the fluffy cotton candy that surrounds the ice cream. 😛

Untitled
This unicorn inspired soft serve comes in a long serving cup just like the normal ones do and it consists of 4 different types of flavours in that swirl. RM14.90.

Untitled
Also, it contains sugar popping candies in it so when you take a spoonful of ice cream , you'll feel that tingling and fizzy sensation that happens in your mouth. Interesting.

That's all for now guys, hope you enjoyed reading, see you!

Shangri La KL buffet dinner at Lemon Garden

We meet again, Shangri La KL! It has been a year since I've been here. I thought I was not going to come back here again after my previous visit because I find that the dishes that they offered were just ordinary. After much thought, I changed my mind and had a little discussion with my mom about it. We decided to give the buffet another try again. And so, I went there again with my family this time on last week's Tuesday night.

To read about my previous thoughts on Shangri La KL's lunch buffet, click here.

As I was making my way to the restaurant, I was surprised for a while. Lemon Garden now has an entirely different look! It looks way different from whatever I had in memory. The newly renovated restaurant now looks much more classy, modern and of course, so much better than its previous look. Don't you just love newly renovated places? I sure do! It just makes everything so much better, just saying hehe.

Just for your reference, the dinner buffet is priced at RM158 nett per pax (adult) from Sundays to Thursdays. It is an international buffet dinner which offers a wide range of cuisines ranging from Chinese, Italian, Indian, Malay, Japanese and Western specialties, just as similar as their previous food range.

We're seated next to the cold cuts corner.

Untitled
First, I'll start off with the cold dishes corner. This corner serves cold dishes such as smoked meats, cold cuts and salads.

Untitled
There is the huge salad bowl (in blue) with different selections of sauces next to it.

Untitled
Here's the bread section where they provide different types of bread, rolls, butter and jam.

Untitled
Right next to the bread section is the cheese station.

Untitled
At the left side of the bread station is the assorted cooked food section.

Untitled
They do serve roasted lamb too.

Untitled
That's it for the bread, assorted cooked food and cold dishes section.

Untitled
The Italian food section is located at the right side of the bread section.

Untitled
These pastas do look appetizing but I didn't get any of these because they'll make me go full quick hahaha.

Untitled
Assorted pizzas.

Untitled
I'm not sure what these are actually... I'm assuming that these are appetizers. 🤔

Untitled
Indian and malay food corner.

Untitled
The satays are good, do remember to give it a try when you're there!

Untitled
Noodle section.

Untitled
Here's the chinese food section.

Untitled
They do offer dim sum..

Untitled
and roasted meats (chicken and duck)..

Untitled
and fried food..

Untitled
and wok cooked dishes..

Untitled
to bowls of deliciously flavour-rich soups!

Untitled
Seafood lovers, here's your favourite station!

Untitled
Fresh sashimis and fresh sushis.. so good! 🍣

Untitled
Cold prawns and oysters.

Untitled
More sushis, wasabi and soy sauce.

Untitled
Here's my starter of the night. A plate of fresh sashimis and scallops.

Untitled
Second plate of seafood. I must say, the milky-colored flesh sashimi (after googling for its name I guess it's called white tuna) was really delicious as it has a really soft texture with a rich buttery and creamy flavour to it. YUMS!

Untitled
Chicken satay.

Untitled
I requested for a roasted duck drumstick. 😝

Untitled
Chicken with dried oyster and lotus root soup. It was really good!

Untitled
Ginseng black chicken soup. This also tasted really good unless you don't like the taste of ginseng then you may not like this one.

Untitled
Vege and salmon pizza with fried man tous on the side.

Untitled
After we've done eating the mains, it's time for desserts! Just looking at this picture makes me crave for desserts now. 😋

Untitled
Jellies, cakes and puddings. Not forgetting to mention that they do have ice creams, assorted kuih muihs and an ice kacang corner.

Untitled
Assorted cakes and tarts. Oh, and they did serve a special durian cake that night.

Untitled
Everyone's favourite chocolate fountain! Spot the plates of cut fruits next to it.

Untitled
Whoopsies, it should be called as an infinity chocolate tap! There are two options which are the milk chocolate and white chocolate. Both were really really delicious when paired with strawberries!

Untitled
I'm not a big fan of chocolate but when it comes to molten chocolate coated strawberries, I just couldn't resist it 🍓🍫

Untitled
I had a raspberry flavoured kanten jelly and a pudding which I ended up not liking it because of its weird texture.

Untitled
You can always request for a cup of tea!

Untitled
Here are two panoramic views of the restaurant.

Untitled

Untitled
Cute ball shaped chrysanthemum flowers on a little tree.

Untitled
Looks so puffy.

All in all, my family and I had a really enjoyable experience at this newly revamped Lemon Garden restaurant.

I really liked the fresh sashimi and the various chinese soups.
Now, I would say I might come back again for another visit.
